๐ŸŒพ๐ŸฑLOCAL FOOD CULTURE ๐Ÿฑ๐ŸŒพ

๐Ÿฑ๐ŸŒพBEFORE THE DEATH OF THE LOCAL FOOD CULTURE๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿฑ

As Sri Lankans, we now think of ourselves as a people who are more prone to delusions than anyone else.  Many people's hearts as well as minds are paralyzed.

Due to this, the inherent cultural factors of all the material and immaterial factors of the Sri Lankan society are dying out.  Cultural trauma, or the superiority of one's own culture, is not taken into account by the majority of people due to the breakdown caused by the invasions of other cultures.  The local food culture has suffered the same fate.

Many factors, such as globalization, business dominance, new market expansion, and the media that builds the ladder, and the new media process that many do not understand, have changed the attitudes of the Sri Lankan people.  It is for this reason that he follows Western factors from his country.  The goal of globalization is to build the same kind of culture throughout the world.  No one thinks that the unitary culture that is currently being formed is a Western culture.  If so, this is a Western tactic.  They allow their goods and services to flow freely across borders and then get publicity through the media.  Because of their convenience and comfort, people use these products and services with great interest.  It goes without saying that this will feed multinational corporations in the West.  We, who in the past did not have foreign debt, are now burdened with debt.  The main reason for this is the strategic embracing of foreign factors that have spread in our country and the enlightenment of all to use them.  That is why it is said that the people of our country are inclined towards a great delusion to the extent of pursuing what is unknown to the natives.  The breakdown of Sri Lankan culture in particular has become a struggle between the elders and the younger generation.  The older generation is shocked by the disappearance of the local culture due to the anti-cultural patterns carried by the younger generation.  But now it seems that the older generation has also turned their attention to the new cultural trend.  It is like facilitating the rapid achievement of globalization objectives.

The fate of the local food culture is strong evidence of the displacement of the local culture.  Then the village, the village home has become a wonder today.  Not only did the local culture emerge in the face of the factor of local food.  Indigenous food culture is also at the forefront as a key factor in linking a healthy lifestyle.  According to the Buddha, health is the ultimate benefit.  Indigenous foods are standard medicines.  In plain language, consuming indigenous foods is like consuming drugs.  Then the ultimate benefit is health.

Modernization is essential.  But it must be done through a system of methods peculiar to the existing society.  Or even the most friendly cultural factors that are not alien, simple, life-affirming, and do not cost money will inevitably be overshadowed.  Embracing all Western factors is unavoidable.

Embracing all Western factors does not mean modernization.  Proper modernization is the process of adapting everything so as not to damage the cultural barrier that protects a country's identity.

In the local food culture, the majority of household food items were sourced from home gardens and hens.  In fact, it is a claim to be self-sufficient.  In short, Sri Lankans were accustomed to being raised and eaten.  In the hena near the village, grains such as kurakkan, cowpea, green gram, leafy vegetables, pumpkin, puhul, radish, manioc and sweet potato were grown.  Hingurala, Ratala, sweet potato, Kiriala and Kukulala potatoes were grown near the house.  On the other side were a few banana bushes, turmeric, ginger, and other herbs.  We got some paddy from the paddy field and grew vegetables for the house at Denikade near the paddy field.  Coconut, Iramusu, Elabatu, Iriweriya, Aloe vera, Asparagus, Walpenela etc. could be obtained from the hena field and the garden near the house.  These are used sometimes as food and sometimes as medicine.  That is why it was mentioned earlier that many foods in Sri Lankan culture are medicinal.

When it comes to food safety, there is no modern way of doing it, but there is a healthy diet that does not cause any side effects and does not use various chemicals.  There were no pesticides or herbicides sprayed on the food and no such measures were taken to secure the food.  Bizza, attu, smoke, etc. were used to secure the food.  The paddy field at home was always full of paddy.  The smoke and ashes consisted of cashews, bread, oats, jackfruit, and pillows.  In the corner of the kitchen is a jackfruit corner.  Preserves vegetables that are dried in the sun.  There was a tradition of keeping fish in the smoke above the stove and drying them.

There was no house without Kurakkan bread, Kurakkan pittu and Kurakkan paste.  Eat a balanced diet every day.  From day to day a different mallow was added to the rice.  Made of any kind of porridge.  Neeramulliya, Polpala, Ranawara Iramusu etc. were used instead of tea.

In these systems, a healthy generation of people lived in Sri Lanka in the past, enjoying a balanced diet, eating other foods on a daily basis, working hard and not eating unhealthy foods.  There was no competition to make money and there were no clashes.  They have fulfilled their needs and lived in peace and harmony.

Today's food is produced for sale while doing everything for trade, not for consumption.  They cultivate and sell, not food.  Then do not think about being healthy.  Chemical fertilizers, pesticides, etc. are used extensively and various large scale cultivations are carried out and the consumers become sick in a very short time.  He also sells them all at the market and pays for everything he needs from the shop to the house.  Most of the food they bring in is processed using artificial flavors with various flavors and chemical compounds.  The rice we make from the paddy we get from our paddy fields does not contain the slightest bit of the power of a coconut sambol or even the food we buy at the market today.  The English word for cooked rice is "rice" and it's no stranger to the habit of savoring it.  But until then the consequences will never be taken into account by the present generation.  The sourness of the coconut, which is added to the seasoned rice over a low flame for hours, goes away because it has unconditionally undermined tradition, tradition, and traditional local wisdom.  ⁇

How easy is it to get close to Chun Pan?  Food is processed and brought closer, but actually inside the food is a deadly monster that makes people sick.  The people of Sri Lanka, who use the wheat flour from the West with great enthusiasm on a daily basis, look for Kurakkan only after they have failed.  Many noncommunicable diseases begin with the food we eat every day.  From the moment the food is cooked to the time it is eaten, various harmful toxins accumulate.  When it comes to growing chemicals, preservatives, cooking flavors, etc., we are consuming foods that are not as clean and medicinal as before.  Poison only.  This has become the main reason for overcrowding in hospitals.  It is also difficult to diagnose certain diseases.  The main reason for this is the lack of a clean, nutritious food consumption pattern associated with the local culture.  In the end, the costs really figure out to be the same for salon and regular retail products.  This is because many foods introduced in the West are unhealthy fast foods and have an attractive taste.  Instant, easy, but lacking in quality.  It is only after a while that the taste of a moment comes to fruition by paying a large sum of money.

Through the friendship between the media and traders, Sri Lankans who have become accustomed to different food consumption patterns have risked their lives to nurture the media and traders.  The present generation needs to understand this situation very quickly.  Or not only will the local culture decline, but the whole of Sri Lanka will soon become a sick country.  Already, even infants are beginning to develop diseases such as diabetes.  If the current diet continues, those tragedies will only get worse.

At a time when all people are slaves to the media, it is difficult to change the attitudes of Sri Lankans.  Such is the plight of young and old alike.  But the methods of local paddy cultivation that are being implemented now, the local fruit orchard programs, the concept of home gardening, the ban on herbicides, the introduction of organic fertilizers instead of chemical fertilizers, etc. should be commended.  Also, those who implement them should inform the people of the need to implement these methods through good developmental communication.  Or the people of this country will inevitably experience irreparable destruction when they realize that money cannot do everything.

THANK YOU.!.
