Lakadara Ganapathi. Sinharaja Forest is important to us as a special evergreen wetland forest to Sri Lanka among the forests of the world. This Sinharaja Forest is located in the Kalawana Eectorate where I live in the Rathnapura Disrict of the Sabaragamuwa province. The total area or 7,648 hectares.It range in altitude from 300m to 1,170m. Sinharaja starts from Kalawana Veddagala Kudawa area and extenda to Hiniduma area in Galle in the Southern province.  The gaint Nawadagasa in the rare evergreen forest is a masterpice of nature. Spread over 20-25 acres, the giant puswela is a valuable product of nature that amazes visitors. A large number of rare fish endemic to Sri Lanka are found in the streams of several beautiful waterfalls. There are also many rare and valuable herbs. Anagi Minikata Sanga Galai Kalugan Komali Ganga. The Kalu ganga is one of the four majoir rivers that start from the Sri Phada mountain. This river can be seen at several places on the Rajamawatha,Ratnapura palabaddala road Which was the main road during the Sripa karuna period from ancient times. This river is very useful to man in the first place to quench the thirst and fatigue of the devotees who go on the pilgrimage to Sri padasthana. It reaches the city of Ratnapura by feeding on many wetlands such as Sri palabaddala and Gilimale. Batugedara bridge is the first large bridge over the kalu ganga. It is built on the Ratnapura -  Embilipitiya main road. The Muwagama Bridge is the second bridge is the second bridge over the kalu ganga flowing through the city center of Ratnapura. We are fortunate to have the Sinha raja Forest, The total area of the Sinha raja Forest Reserve is 18,900 acres or 7,648 hectares.it ranges in altitude from 300m to 1,170m.one of the foremost natural,which is a world Heritage site, to the located in the Rathnapura District. Surrounded by the sabaragamuwa hills of the wet zone, this area is surrounded by beautiful clean flowing streams. The Kukule Reservoir was built due to the dam which crosses the Maguru ganga,Veddagala Ganga,Rakwana Ganga and Kukuleganga which starts from Sinharaja forest and flows at Kalawana,Kukule,VemPiya Goda.
